About BharathaMatha College

 Our college was officially established on July 3, 2015 as a new initiative in Kozhinjamapra to contribute towards the higher education scenario of Palakkad district. With over four decades of experience of running a prestigious school in the town, the management was approached by many parents to start a private college. Many students from these localities still depend upon colleges in TN for their higher education. With the availability of the land in Kozhinjampara, the dream was fulfilled in 2015 with four classrooms in a small building. Now over the last four years we have built enviable infrastructure and other facilities. The college is affiliated to Calicut University from its inception. The college was started with four UG programs in 2015. Now it has Two PG courses: MCOM - Finance & MA English literature; and Eight UG programs: B Com (Finance & CA) BA (English); BCA.; BBA; BSC Psychology; BSW (Bachelor of social work) and BSC in Artificial Intelligence. The College gained NAAC accreditation in 2022 and AICTE approval in 2024.

Bharathamatha College of arts and science comes under the management of Preshitha Province of the Carmelites of Mary immaculate (CMI). The college motto is ‘Inspire to ignite’. Aiming at jobs for students, the college is conducting certification programs in association with various partners such as Keltron, NSDC, ICA Academy, Sacca, Learn Tree etc. for providing add on certifications to students. IATA certification is unique to our college in Palakkad. Many placement drives were conducted over the years, many of them open for public.  

The infrastructure and the campus provide lots of facilities to the students to express their creative talents. A good collection of several thousands of books are available in the library along with newspapers and journals to keep the students up to date with the present trends and innovations. College is well equipped with a computer lab and canteen facility. New infrastructure is added every year as per the need. The college was moved into the new facility in 2016 with 12 class rooms. Another four class rooms were added in 2018; and a new floor was added with a gathering hall in 2019 and the beautiful Facade and second floor was completed in 2024.  The college has got a nice playground for Basketball, Football, Cricket, Volley ball, Pickle ball etc. to assist with the physical growth of the students. Our students have already won prizes at the university level in sports. The Haritha mission of the Kerala Government has audited the campus as A+ green Campus. 

College undertakes various seminars and workshops such as personality development and women’s health are regularly. Charity visits and Industrial visits are unique to enrich student experience. Apart from the academic programs, co-curricular activities such as cultural competitions; sports competitions; club activities; and Social activities have become part and parcel of campus life. Programs aimed at personal development of every student such as two minute speech; personality development workshops etc. are conducted in every semester. The college management is committed to the personal growth of every student.
