There are certain best practices followed in the college so the students can bring out their innate talents and we can give them enough training in moulding them as citizens with appreciable level of competence.

Tour students are encouraged to visit any one of the charities in the neighbourhood once a year as a class. They visit old age homes, centres for children, centres for the physically challenged, centres for the abandoned in and around Palakkad. They contribute something as well they entertain the residence with their talents. This is intended to promote a social awareness and to create empathy towards the less privileged.

Students themselves organize potluck lunches based on their departments, they do the fundraising and managing of lunches; many times they cook and bring meals to share with others. This is organized by every department at least once a year. This is intended to promote friendship and fellowship among students of same department

Once a month, one of the classes will take leadership in organizing an interfaith prayer meeting. Scriptures from three texts will be read as well as prayers offered by students. This is a time for recollection. This is intended to promote religious harmony among students as well as an appreciation of other’s religion.

Following the tips from Gurukula education, at the end of the academic year, the final year students will participate in a Samavarthanam celebration; a prayer service in which they receive a lamp from their teachers as symbol to carry forward the light of wisdom.

From the first year onwards, students are encouraged to speak for two minutes on various topics to improve confidence and public speaking skills. Conducted during the last period from Monday to Thursday, the programme progresses through different levels including general topics, conversation enactments and specialized subjects. The initiative helps students overcome stage fear and perform confidently in interviews and presentations.

Final year students present their research ideas through poster presentations during the fifth semester, including objectives, methodology, relevance and data collection techniques. Students explain their projects and interact with faculty and juniors, helping them refine their work through feedback. Later, they present the completed project as a PPT before the Principal, faculty and students, enhancing their presentation skills and confidence in communicating innovative ideas.

Updating the notice boards are the ways of exhibiting talents and artistic excellence in the college. Each class is allotted with a particular week in which they have to decorate the two common notice boards based on a particular theme. It may include latest news, subject related concepts, general knowledge, latest innovations in various fields, renowned personalities from various streams, art work by the students, rare and funny facts, literary work of students, etc. The presentation from the classes will be noted by the Principal and the one that came up with the best will be awarded prize.

This is a programme to make students aware of the exemplary life and vision of various eminent personalities along with their life-style, backgrounds, contributions, etc. Under this, each class has to discuss with their class teachers and decide on a prominent personality from any field. Then they have to study about the hero they have chosen in detail. In the month allotted for the class, the Principal will pick students randomly and they have to speak about their hero. This practice has borne fruit in showering light on various personalities and their unforgettable impact on the generations yet to come.

With the motive of helping slow learners to come up, the “Each-One Teach-One” has been implemented in the college before the commencement of University Examinations. Under this programme, the students of the whole class will be divided in to pairs comprising of one weak and one bright student. The bright student is entrusted with the duty of helping the weaker one in studies. This programme is found to be very much helpful for the students as they can freely ask doubts and clarify them within their peer groups.

With a view of developing practical experience, each department conducts industrial visit to various places. It enhances the first hand experience for the students and to know the practicality of things. Most industrial visits are connected with the curriculum and these visits help the students to enrich their knowledge about the overall functioning of the concerned industries. Being located very close to an industrial area, our students are benefitted fully.

With a view to train our students with hands on experience at the very industry itself, the students are required to do internship during the summer breaks of both first year and second year. Now as part of the FYUGP, internship has become mandatory from 60 hours to 120 hours based on various courses. More details on Internship can be read under the Placement cell page.
